Some photos...

... of Eugenio Pacelli from the years when he was Nuncio in Germany.

Raise your hand if you want this man beatified pronto.

Hand emphatically raised here (with fingers snapping).

Also, I love the little train of the old choir cassock (pic 4).

Buckled shoes, cassock with train, abundance of lace, etc...

Are we sure this is even Catholic!? (hahaha)

Instead of raising your hands (or waving them or snapping fingers, etc.), why not make a post dealing with the subject of his canonization? The reasons why he should be a Saint? and questions as to why he is still not beatified? This would be excellent when we take into consideration the fact that the 50th Anniversary of his death is approaching!

My hand is raised. In a very Germany-in-the-1930s sort of way. Make that man a saint immediately!

He was no Nazi: he was a holy Pope and a man of God.

Thanks for these great pictures.

Latinmass:
Saying that Pius XII was a holy man is like saying that the Mount Everest is a tall mountain. I am sure that lots of smarter man and woman already deal with the topic abundantly. But I am the one who has the cool pictures, so I figured this was my part of the job.

Aaah... if it weren´t for the Holy Week of 1955... And the new rubrics and the suppression of the Octaves. And for Musica sacra and the dialogue mass... (I forgot to mention the sacraments in vernacular.)

However, he certianly was very very dignified. And a gand theologian.
